This weekend trumpets what I have come to know as the first real weekend of Georgia Bulldogs football. While there may not be a game taking place in beautiful Athens, GA., there is an event almost as incredible. That's right folks... it time for the UGA Countdown to Kickoff Fan Festival!
For those of you who don't know, the Countdown to Kickoff Fan Festival is an annual event hosted by the Stinchcomb brothers and David Greene that benefits the Georgia Transplant Foundation and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This event is one of the single best opportunities you and your family may ever have to get up close and personal with a host of current and former Dawgs. In addition to autograph and photo opportunities with players, there are numerous activities for the kids including player-led football drills and the occasional two hand touch game breaking out here and there. Local food and drink vendors also provide refreshments that are included with admission.
If you've never been to the Fan Festival, I highly suggest you get your tail to the Classic City. If you have attended in years past, its probably time for another go round. As you can see from my recap of last year's event, its a blast and a day you and your kids will remember forever.
While I'll provide you with the basics below, complete information can be obtained by visiting www.ugakickoff.com.
