Tuesday Morning 'Dawg Bites.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Before you head out the door to get your Tuesday underway, let's take a quick look at what's going on in Bulldog Nation.

  • Georgia announced yesterday that it has filled the position of football Director of Player Personnel, hiring Samford wide receiver coach Ronnie Letson. Letson only joined the Samford staff in March, having served as an offensive analyst at Alabama in 2013 after previously coaching at Jacksonville State, so he's another cog in the recent Yellowhammer invasion of the coaching staff. This is of course one of those non-coaching support staff positions that have become a little controversial recently. You do have to wonder how many NFL-style positions the NCAA is willing to allow, assuming the NCAA has the ability to do much of anything about the subject. In the here and now, Letson is a native of Norcross and a graduate of football power Norcross High, which can't hurt anything. He also has a good bit of southeastern recruiting experience, so it wouldn't be surprising to see on-campus recruiting among his duties.
  • Marc Weiszer has a great profile of Bulldog freshman track star Kendall Williams. Williams won two national championships, earned All-American honors, and is still up for a host of postseason awards. I for one can't wait to see what she can accomplish in the remainder of her time in the Classic City.
  • Finally, Athlon Sports empaneled a group of college football analysts to rank the top college football stadiums in the SEC. SB Nation's own Steven Godfrey was one of only two respondents to rank Sanford Stadium #1, but it finished 3rd overall, hailed as neither the biggest or loudest in the league, but the most beautiful. I for one will take that.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and...

Go 'Dawgs!
