The NFL Draft will be kicking off live from Radio City Music Hall in New York in a few minutes. Tonight's festivities are already underway with ESPN doing their usual preview of the preview of the pre game kind of thing. So there's that. Among the items of note:
- Todd McShay thinks Johnny Manziel is headed to Dallas. Mel Kiper thinks to Tampa Bay. I aggressively and openly don't care.
- SB Nation's own Dan Kadar believes Jadeveon Clowney will be selected by the Houston Texans with the first overall pick. I agree, and based on observation of Clowney throughout the 2013 season, I expect he'll then take the rest of the night off.
- For the first time, drafted players will lumber toward the podium to the strains of "walk up" music, similar to that employed by baseball players. If I were being drafted, I would have already scoured iTunes and Youtube for the weirdest possible cover of Warren Zevon's "Lawyers, Guns and Money". Then I'd give up and use this version by Widespread Panic:
Have a drafty evening, people. I would say to keep it civil, but there's no college football, so really what is there to get that emotional about? Until later . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!
