Georgia's 2014-15 basketball schedule rounding into view

Georgia Basketball's non-conference slate for the 2014-15 season is coming into view and will feature some quality opponents.

Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Its quietly been a good summer for Mark Fox and Georgia basketball. After a surprising second-place finish in the SEC and an NIT run, Fox was rewarded with a contract extension, he then nailed down a pair of recruits and finally replaced assistant coach Stacy Palmore with Yasir Rosemond.

Now the non-conference schedule for next season is starting to take shape with several quality opponents. The Bulldogs will be a part of the preseason NIT although their opponents have yet to be announced. As part of the tournament, Georgia will host two games in Athens and if they win both then travel to New York for two more games.

The Bulldogs will also host Colorado, Seton Hall and Mercer which was announced earlier this month. The Bears made a surprising run to the 2014 NCAA Tournament and upset Duke in the first-round.

Georgia will also play road games against Georgia Tech, Chattanooga and Kansas State on New Year's Eve. The Bulldogs won't be a part of the SEC-Big 12 challenge for the second consecutive season. Georgia is the only conference member that has yet to be a part of the challenge.

Here is what we know about Georgia's 2014-15 non-conference schedule so far:

  • 2014 NIT Season Tip-Off (Four games possible) - The first two games will be held in Athens. If the Bulldogs win both then they will advance to New York where they would play two more games.

  • Dec 21 vs Seton Hall
