Georgia baseball to play doubleheader on Saturday against Mississippi State

Georgia's baseball team opened conference play on Friday night with a win over Mississippi State and will play a doubleheader on Saturday in hopes of avoiding a rainy forecast for Sunday.

With rain in the forecast for Sunday Georgia and Mississippi State will play a baseball doubleheader on Saturday in hopes of completing their three-game series as it is scheduled.

Game 1 is scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m. at Foley Field and will be televised on FSN. The second game will start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games will be full nine inning affairs and a single ticket will get both fans into both games on Saturday.

The Bulldogs extended their winning streak to to 11 games on Friday with a 7-1 win in the series opener. Georgia is now 13-8 on the season and 1-0 in SEC play. Freshman Robert Tyler is expected to start the first game on Saturday for the Bulldogs. Tyler is 1-0 with a 0.93 ERA on the season. Senior Patrick Boling was originally scheduled to start Sunday's game and will likely move up to pitch in Game 2.
