National Signing Day 2014: Commit To This Comment Thread.

It's finally here. The day when scores of young men take that next step toward gridiron greatness. The day when every football team in America signs the guy who can take them to the next level. It's National Signing Day, and I couldn't be more excited.

First, these are our best guess of the relevant announcement times for recruits Georgia is still in on.

Prospect Position Announcement Time
Isaiah McKenzie WR/KR 8:15 a.m.
T.J. Harrell S/CB 9:30 a.m.
Tavon Ross S/RB 1:30 p.m.
Andrew Williams DE 2:00 p.m.
Lorenzo Carter DE/OLB 3:30 p.m.

Of course these are always subject to change based on the whims of high school kids, grandparents, girlfriends, the weather, rampant armadillos and a thousand other things. So stay frosty.

Second, as usual there have been a host of rumors going around about these and other prospects switching, flipping, hopping, and doing other stuff that scares college football fans. My advice, in the face of all this uncertainty is as follows: relax. If Georgia doesn't sign any of the above prospects it will still be a top 10-12 recruiting class according to all the major recruiting services, which is pretty impressive for such a small group.

Seriously, if Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Jacob Park, Dyshon Sims, Isaiah Wynn, Keyon Brown, Malkom Parrish, or Jeb Blazevich made their announcements today it would be a huge last minute splash. As it is, each of those guys has been salted away for months, and has already talked to our staff about the things they need to do if they want to be on the field in 2014. So we're ahead of the game before the day even begins. If we get any more than 2 of the above 5 guys I'll be pleasantly surprised. Carter's the only one I'll really be deeply disappointed if we miss on.

So sit back, relax, and find a way to convince the boss that you're really working. We'll be here all day with the latest news, and we'll be back this evening to wrap it all up. Let's do this thing.

Go 'Dawgs!!!
