Super Sunday Golfin' and NFL Open Comment Thread.

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

Are you ready for no football? Well, the last game of the season is today. They call it the "Super Bowl", and it's pitting a team from the state of Washington against a team from Colorado. Cute.

Obviously this evening's Super Bowl, kicking off around 6:30 at MetLife Field, is the biggest sporting event of the day. Former 'Dawg Chris Clemons will be suiting up for the Seahawks in what could be his last shot at winning it all, and the Denver Broncos will feature players who wore the red and black in college on both offense and defense. Champ Bailey, like Clemons, is looking to add the one accolade which he hasn't obtained in his storied pro career. Knowshon Moreno may be auditioning for a new team. Interestingly, all 3 spent 3 seasons with Georgia (though one of Moreno's was a redshirt season) before going to the NFL (H/T Mr. Sanchez).

This is the spot for all your Super Bowl open commenting, whether it regards the game, the commercials, or the dicey cheese dip at your neighbor's party.

But before kickoff, there's other professional sports with a Bulldog bent, namely the final day of the PGA's Phoenix Open, where Bubba Watson is tied for the lead at -15 with Kevin Stadler, and fellow Bulldog Harris English is five shots back in a tie for 19th. We'll be watching, and I hope you will too.

So get your golf on, then get ready for some football. And until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
