Georgia/Chattanooga Open Thread: Let's Avoid Getting Snakebitten.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

There's obviously a ton of football news afoot in the Classic City, but Mark Fox's Hoop Hounds are busy as well, traveling to face the Chattanooga Mocs tonight in the friendly confines of McKenzie Arena. The Mocs are coming off a 77-69 loss to Kennesaw State that dropped them to 3-4 on the season. Georgia holds the 28-5 series lead over the Southern Conference foe from suburban Rossville. An extension of that win streak probably doesn't do the Bulldogs much good in terms of their postseason resume. A loss however would be like a freight train coming headlong down the wrong track.

Which reminds me, Chattanooga is led by forward Casey Jones, who's going for 14.4 points per game, some of which have been scored when his team was a head, some behind. Jones is shooting a solid .500 from the field, so limiting his easy opportunities might be a good idea. That's a notion, the way, that may have crossed Mark Fox's mind, too.

Tonight's game is available on ESPN3, and on radio across the Bulldog Radio Network. We'll be back to wrap things up later this evening. Until then. . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
