Georgia Overview

Georgia had a good tune up before their matchup with Georgia Tech, cruising to a 55-9 victory over Charleston Southern.  Nick Chubb had 113 yards on nine carries and found the endzone twice, and the starters were out by the start of the second half.

But now the fun begins.  Tech this weekend, and if we can get some help from our friends in Fayetteville, a showdown with Alabama or Mississippi State for the SEC title.

Movers

Fell Out: #20 Utah, #21 Nebraska, #24 USC, #25 Duke

Newcomers: #22 Minnesota, #23 Clemson, #24 Louisville, #25 Boise State

Overrated

#13 Arizona State.  The Sun Devils are good, but they aren’t great.  The best team they’ve played this year, UCLA, routed them 62-27, and the Notre Dame victory has lost some of its shine.  I think they will lose to Arizona in Tucson the day after Thanksgiving.

Underrated

Arkansas.  It’s very hard to rank a team that is 6-5, but boy, Arkansas has a case.  They will have played all eight SEC games against teams who, at the time, were ranked in the Top 20.  Let that soak in for a second.  And to be bowl eligible and have a shot at a seventh victory?  You have to give some dap to Bret Bielema, especially after the Razorbacks recorded their second straight shutout against a ranked opponent.

This Week’s Top 25 Matchups

#13 Arizona State at #12 Arizona

#16 Georgia Tech at #8 Georgia

#4 Mississippi State at #18 Ole Miss

#22 Minnesota at #14 Wisconsin

#15 Auburn at #1 Alabama

Upset Alert

Last week, I had Arkansas over Ole Miss.  We know how that went.

This week, I almost picked Florida over Florida State.  I like the Gators’ ground game against the Seminoles, and teams traditionally step it up in a coach’s final game.  But then I remembered how bad Florida is at the end of games and how good Florida State closes out games.  So I like Florida State but by no more than a touchdown.

I am, however, going to go with Stanford over UCLA.

Happy Thanksgiving.  Go Dawgs.  Woo Pig Sooie.
