First Half Open Comment Thread.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

After all the buildup it's finally here. We're half an hour away from the Georgia Bulldogs kicking it off in Sanford Stadium against the Auburn Tigers. It's the long-awaited return of Todd Gurley, who we're hoping will be able to put up Nick Chubb-type numbers, because college football is weird.

I think the two most important aspects of this game for the Bulldogs are creating turnovers and playing well on first down. Auburn is going to get their yards. And they're going to break some big plays. The best way to beat the WarPlainsTigerOpenInvestigators is to make them come up empty despite all those yards and to put them in situations where they pick up 5 on 3rd and 8. If Auburn secures the football and plays ahead of the sticks this one really, really worries me. By contrast if the Georgia defense is opportunistic and plays disciplined football then Georgia stands a real chance in this one. We'll be back at the half with first half analysis and the Second Half Open Comment Thread. Until then, strap in. It's gonna be a wild one.

Go 'Dawgs!!!
