Well, Week 6 did not disappoint.  Upsets galore!  Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M all went down on the first Saturday of October.  Let’s take a look back and make sense of what happened, as well as look ahead at the upcoming theatrics in Week 7.

Georgia Overview

The Dawgs took care of business against the Vanderbilt Commodores, avenging last year’s loss with a final score of 44-17.  Gurley was Gurley, piling up 163 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, and we got a chance to see a bit of Brice Ramsey as well.  Overall, Georgia did what they needed to do.

Fell Out: #15 LSU, #16 USC, #17 Wisconsin, #18 BYU

Newcomers: #10 Arizona, #20 Arizona State, #22 Georgia Tech, #24 Utah

#9 TCU.  The Horned Frogs had an impressive win versus Oklahoma, upsetting them 37-33.  The jump to no. 9 might be a bit high though, especially when Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight was probably less worried about TCU and more concerned about his phone call to Katy Perry.  Let’s see how TCU fares against Baylor this week.

#12 Oregon.  Despite the loss at home to Arizona, Oregon is still a top 10 team.  No cause for concern though.  A win this Saturday against UCLA will catapult them back into the top 10 in all rankings.

This Week’s Top 25 Matchups

#13 Georgia at #23 Missouri

#9 TCU at #5 Baylor

#12 Oregon at #18 UCLA

#2 Auburn at #3 Mississippi State

#3 Ole Miss at #14 Texas A&M

Upset Alert

Let’s hope this week pick turns out better than last week.  Both #10 Arizona and #23 Georgia Tech should be wary against unranked foes.  The Wildcats get a visit from the USC Trojans, who are looking to bounce back from a loss against the Arizona State Sun Devils, while the Yellow Jackets play host to Duke Blue Devils.

Look for both Arizona and Georgia Tech to fall form the ranks of the unbeaten Saturday.
