Mark Richt Victory Watch Epsiode 130: Gurley4Heisman Edition

New, comments

It's Always Great To Be A Georgia Bulldog!

In a day when more than one of the Top 10 fell, Todd Gurley put on a stellar Heisman Campaign. He can run the ball, he can hand off the ball, he can catch the ball, he can hurdle men trying to tackle him and he can most definitely pass the ball 50 yards to a Tight End:

Our Classic City Canines sank the Sailors from Tennessee today with a final score of 44-17. It is therefore my honor and my privilege to once again bring to you, the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

Mark Richt has now secured his 130th career win, in only 176 total games as the head man in charge between the hedges. Coach Richt currently boasts a 130-46 record and a .739 winning percentage*.  At the identical juncture in their careers, Coach Wally Butts was 111-57-8 (.631) following a loss to Furman team in 1954 and Vince Dooley was 118-52-6 (.667) following a 7 point victory (24-14) in the Voodoo Capital of the US in 1979**.

Mark Richt remains statistically head and shoulders above his historical coevals at the same point in their respective careers.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and may you enjoy sweet dreams of Gurley winning the Heisman. Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!

*I never know whether to think of the FU t-shirts on sale at Furman University or a Detective in the LAPD that testified against OJ when I hear "Furman."

** NOLA remains one of my all-time favorite cities and the very, very best place to go if you live with the reason for Pinktober.
