Top Cornerback To Decide Friday Between Georgia And FSU.

Al Messerschmidt

Fort Lauderdale (American Heritage) cornerback Tarvarus McFadden will announce his college commitment this morning at an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at his high school.

My strong suspicion is that McFadden will pick the 'Noles, but he's also still planning an official visit to Georgia for the Auburn game, along with a lot of other high profile prospects (something like 3-5 of 247Sports' composite top 10, in fact). So I wouldn't say it's over today, but if McFadden picks Georgia it would be a bit of an upset. Working in the Dawgs' favor is the fact that McFadden's high school teammates Sony Michel and Isaiah McKenzie are both having excellent freshman seasons in Athens, and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt actually recruited him at FSU and now at Georgia.

It's not like Georgia hasn't already recruited some talented defensive backs for 2015, but McFadden is on another level. The 6'3, 190 lb. standout is strong in coverage, fast enough to run well with receivers, has good hands, and is big and physical enough to play safety if necessary. So let's cross our fingers, shall we? Until later . . .

Go 'Dawgs!!!
