In a matter of moments Georgia and Arkansas will kick things off in War Memorial Stadium. I often try to use these last few moments to point out a particularly enlightening statistic about today's game. The best I can tell you about this one is that statistically it's very nearly a dead heat. Arkansas is within 2-3 spots of Georgia in most every major statistical category. Both teams run the ball well and stop it well. Neither has struggled against opponents in the red zone. Heck, about the best news I can deliver is that Georgia is second in the SEC in opponents' punt returns, giving up a measly 1.86 yards per punt return while the Razorbacks are fifth at 4.11 yards allowed per return.
In games between relatively evenly matched teams which match up well schematically, special teams do often make the difference. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that is the case today, but we'll know shortly. Everybody have a great time, keep it classy, and. . .
