Georgia looks to keep its home streak rolling on Wednesday when they host South Carolina at Stegeman Coliseum. The Bulldogs are 9-7 overall and 3-1 in the SEC and look to continue a string of success over the Gamecocks. South Carolina on the other hand comes in at 7-10 and is still looking for its first conference win of the season.
The Bulldogs have won six of its last seven matchups with South Carolina including a 62-54 overtime win at Stegeman last season. Georgia has been a much different team at home where eight of their nine wins have occurred.
The Bulldogs are coming off of Saturday's 66-61 overtime win against Arkansas. They trailed by as many as seven points in the second half before rallying for the win. Kenny Gaines led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 points while Marcus Thornton logged a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Those rebounds are very important to the Bulldogs who are undefeated on the season when they outrebound their opposition. Georgia pummeled the Razorbacks on the glass by a 56-34 margin.
South Carolina comes in having lost four straight and five of their last ten. The Gamecocks already have conference losses at Florida and Texas A&M along with home losses to LSU and Ole Miss. The Rebels escaped Columbia with a 75-74 win on Saturday. Sindarious Thornwell leads the Gamecocks in scoring at 12 points per game but finished with 24 against Ole Miss.
Tip off from Stegeman is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game can be seen on your local SEC TV affiliate or online on ESPN3.
