CBS's Chip Patterson Discussing Georgia Football And Keeping It Legit In Podcast Land With The Solid Vebral.

New, 1 comment

CBS's Chip Patterson joined Dan and Ty from the Solid Verbal (and SB Nation) for an early preview of several college football teams, including the Georgia Bulldogs.

You can listen to the entire podcast here, with the snippet on the Bulldogs being about 2/3 of the way in.

Chip is definitely right that Bulldog fans should be worried about the development of the secondary, and whether that development will take place before the murderer's row first quarter of the season concludes. Damian Swann did show reassuring progress as 2012 proceeded, and Josh Harvey-Clemons does have obvious talent. But the steady senior leadership of guys like Sanders Commings and Shawn Williams is going to be impossible to replace.

Patterson does apparently think that Ray Drew is still playing linebacker (and that John Atkins is a JUCO signee rather than a prep schooler), but given that he and his CBS cohorts are previewing basically every college football team in the land, you kinda have to give him a pass on those minor slip ups. Plus he works in a solid diss on Lane Kiffin and some relatively obscure Arrested Development trivia, so much respect. Give it a listen if you find the time. Until later . . .
