New, 33 comments

The Georgia Bulldogs will be in action on Friday afternoon and evening in men's and women's track and field, women's softball, men's and women's tennis, and women's gymnastics.

The Bulldogs field teams in several sports with a legitimate shot at No. 1, and several of them are in action today.

As yesterday’s edition of Beyond the Hedges made plain, the college football offseason is a very busy time for other athletic endeavors in Bulldog Nation. Consequently, we will be hosting another all-day all-sports open comment thread for the Georgia squads who will be in action this fine Friday. These are they:

The track and field teams, including the tenth-ranked Lady Bulldogs, will be in action in two different places today, competing in the Husky Classic in Seattle beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern and in the Virginia Tech Elite Meet in Blacksburg starting at 5:00 p.m.

Likewise, the women’s softball team will play two to start the season, facing Elon at 3:00 p.m. and taking on Ohio State at 5:30 p.m. as part of the Sixth Annual Red and Black Showcase, hosted by the top ten-ranked Bulldogs.

The sixth-ranked men’s tennis team travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech at 4:00 p.m.

The sixth-ranked women’s tennis team will venture even farther from home to lock horns with Texas in Charlottesville at 6:30 p.m. in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

Finally, the sixth-ranked Gym Dogs will be in Lexington for a gymnastics meet against Kentucky at 7:00 p.m.

Join us throughout the day as we cheer on the Red and Black. Please, as always, let us know if we inadvertently have overlooked any group of University of Georgia student-athletes who deserve our support.
