Georgia Bulldogs v. Auburn Tigers Basketball Game Night Open Comment Thread

Mark Fox's Georgia Bulldogs are on something vaguely resembling a roll, at least against the bad teams on their SEC men's basketball slate. Can they notch another win against the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday night?

College sports. We love 'em, especially when they involve the Georgia Bulldogs, who might perhaps slightly be on something bearing a vague resemblance to what may partially be construed as somewhat of what could conceivably be classified to a degree in certain circles as a roll. That's as good a reason as any for you to tune in for tonight's Red and Black men's basketball game against the Auburn Tigers. Well, that, and the fact that the Plainsmen are our oldest gridiron rival and our third-most frequent roundball foe. I hate Auburn. Auburna delenda est.

Tonight's 7:00 p.m. game will be televised on CSS, may be followed on game tracker here, and otherwise is available by the means listed at GeorgiaDogs.com. The first 250 University of Georgia students through the turnstiles get free Chick-fil-A sandwiches, by the way!

A close contest is to be expected between these two combatants. Both come into the game sporting 8-11 overall records and 2-4 conference ledgers. Georgia leads the all-time basketball series against Auburn with 89 wins to the Tigers' 88. Each team is likely to start a freshman guard who spent last season playing for Alpharetta's Class 5A state champion Milton High School team: Charles Mann for us, and Shaquille Johnson for them.

The key stat to watch is points scored by players named Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, as the Bulldogs' sophomore guard has scored exactly 22 points in each of the Hoop Hounds' two SEC victories. Keep track of KCP's scoring and join us in the comment thread.
