The Capital One Bowl at long last is upon us! The Georgia Bulldogs look to finish a season with a dozen wins for just the third time in school history, but the Red and Black will have to get by the Nebraska Cornhuskers in order to reach that milestone and preserve the Athenians' shot at a top five finish.
Naturally, as kickoff approaches, it falls to me to identify the honorary Dawg Sports game day captain, and the choice was not a difficult one: Georgia's first postseason victory in Orlando came exactly 20 years ago today, when the 'Dawgs outlasted the Ohio St. Buckeyes, 21-14, to cap off the Classic City Canines' best season in nearly a decade. Among the primary contributors to that win was Garrison Hearst, who rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Given the porousness of the Nebraska run defense, we may hope for similar success for Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.
