Georgia Bulldogs v. Tennessee Volunteers First-Half Game Day Open Comment Thread

It's Saturday in Athens! Join your fellow Georgia Bulldogs fans for the Dawg Sports game day open comment thread as the Red and Black host the Tennessee Volunteers between the hedges.

Kickoff soon will be upon us, so it is time to get serious about another SEC Saturday in Sanford Stadium. The Tennessee Volunteers are the next challengers to the Georgia Bulldogs’ defense of their 2011 Eastern Division title, and Derek Dooley’s Vols likely represent the toughest test the ‘Dawgs have faced this autumn. Will we see the same Georgia team that demolished Vanderbilt, or are we in for another subpar performance against the Big Orange?

In order to help set the proper tone for this Saturday between the hedges, I now will appoint today’s Dawg Sports honorary game day captain, who is none other than our own David Pollack. In a nationally-televised CBS game in Athens ten years ago, Pollack led No. 6 Georgia to an 18-13 win over No. 9 Tennessee. The hard-charging Bulldog defensive end tallied seven stops on the day, including five unassisted tackles and a pair of sacks, to keep the SEC championship-bound Red and Black undefeated for the autumn. Here’s hoping the spirit of David Pollack is on display in the Classic City this afternoon.

This is your thread for cheering on the Red and Black, at least during the first half. Share your thoughts, observations, reactions, celebrations, and (within reason) complaints in the comments below, and, as always, be nice to your moderator, who is here to help.

Go ‘Dawgs!
