The Mark Richt Victory Watch

Despite falling behind early, the Georgia Bulldogs overwhelmed the Ole Miss Rebels on homecoming to move within one win of a second straight SEC East crown. It is time to update the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

It seemed touch and go there for a while (though, truthfully, it really wasn’t), but, at the end of the day, the Georgia Bulldogs were triumphant over the visiting Mississippi Rebels on homecoming, moving one step closer to a return to the SEC Championship Game and enabling me to update the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

This afternoon, Mark Richt carded his 114th career win to move to within 87 positive outcomes of matching Vince Dooley for the all-time school lead.

153 games into his time on the Sanford Stadium sideline, Mark Richt boasts a 114-39 ledger and a .745 winning percentage, both of which are the best ever for a Georgia coach at this juncture in his tenure. At the same point in their respective careers, Wally Butts was 101-45-7 (.683) after a 1952 win over the Miami Hurricanes and Vince Dooley was 102-46-5 (.683) following a 1977 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats.
