General College Football Game Day Open Comment Thread

While Bulldog Nation eagerly awaits tonight's kickoff in Lexington, Georgia football fans have other games of interest to follow, including SEC tilts in Gainesville and Nashville.

With any luck, no more than one of these guys will have a good day today.

It goes without saying that, on any day on which the Georgia Bulldogs play, the outing involving the Red and Black is the day's most important game. However, since the Classic City Canines' clash with the Kentucky Wildcats does not kick off until 7:00 p.m. Eastern, the dedicated game thread for that contest is not scheduled to open until 6:30 p.m. Eastern, and many of us will be gathering at the Blind Pig Tavern in Athens for tonight's Third Annual Dawg Sports Sacrificial Goat Roast, this represents your early opportunity to take in some football.

As you know if you printed RedCrake's handy college football TV schedule, the LSU Tigers visit the Texas A&M Aggies for a showdown between ranked opponents at noon on ESPN, while glorified Jefferson-Pilot the SEC Network brings you the pillow-fight between the Auburn Tigers and the Vanderbilt Commodores that could signal the end of the line for Gene Chizik.

At 3:00 p.m. Eastern, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will look to snap their present string of futility against the even more hapless Boston College Eagles on a channel it probably isn't worth hunting around to find, and, half an hour later, the Florida Gators welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks to the Swamp for the game we hope does not settle the SEC East. If you're like me, and you just can't bring yourself to root for the Sunshine State Saurians, root either for a meteor to hit Gainesville (even more than usual, I mean) or for Steve Spurrier to be as miserable as humanly possible (even more than usual, I mean).

However you're rooting, though, join in the general college football game day open comment thread!
