The Mark Richt Victory Watch

Though there was much to dislike about the Georgia Bulldogs’ game against the Mississippi Rebels, there was no fault to be found with the ultimate result. The Red and Black’s triumph in Oxford affords us the opportunity to update the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

Earlier today, Mark Richt claimed his 98th career victory as the head coach of the Classic City Canines. He now trails Vince Dooley’s school record by 103 wins.

No previous Georgia football coach has had as many wins as, fewer losses than, or as high a winning percentage as Coach Richt after 134 games as the Bulldogs’ skipper. Mark Richt now stands at 98-36 (.731). At the same juncture in their respective careers, Wally Butts had a 91-36-7 (.705) ledger, while Vince Dooley boasted an 88-41-5 (.675) mark.
