The Georgia Bulldogs’ 2011 signing class was finalized on Saturday with the addition of perhaps the biggest---literally and figuratively---recruit in this group of signees, the mammoth defensive tackle who will anchor Todd Grantham’s 3-4 defense and cement his already-burgeoning legend as "Big Bad John." When the sun rose last Wednesday morning, Georgia had 23 verbal commitments and was in the running for five more uncommitted prep prospects. The Bulldogs signed all 23 verbal commitments without so much as a single defection, and the Red and Black landed three of the five who had yet to declare their intentions. Given the ways in which this group has quality, has quantity, and fills needs, it’s hard to view the 2011 signing class as anything other than a grand slam.
Welcome to Bulldog Nation, gentlemen. Here’s hoping you’re as highly hyped upon your departure from the Classic City as you are upon your arrival in Athens!
Go ‘Dawgs!
