Georgia Bulldogs Gymnastics and Basketball/Atlanta Falcons NFL Playoffs Game Day Open Comment Thread

How significant a sports Saturday is this? Let me count the ways:

  • At 4:00, the sixth-ranked Gym Dogs will take on the No. 3 Utah Red Rocks in Stegeman Coliseum. This meet represents the first true test of the season for the Red and Black gymnastics team, and it will give us an indication of the squad’s prospects under second-year head coach Jay Clark.
  • At 5:00, Mark Fox’s Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Mississippi Rebels in Oxford’s C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum. This is a critical game for the Hoop Hounds’ postseason prospects.
  • Finally, at 8:00, the Atlanta Falcons will take on the Green Bay Packers in the Georgia Dome. Since we in Bulldog Nation haven’t had much occasion lately to cheer for the successes of a red-and-black-clad football team from the Peach State, here is our golden opportunity to do so.

I will be away from the computer for much of the day, as I have a close friend’s wedding to attend, but you are encouraged to discuss the day’s crucial sporting events in the comments below.

Go Falcons! Go ‘Dawgs!
