After placing third at the SEC Championships, the Georgia gymnastics team learned on Monday afternoon that it will compete in the Columbia Regional in the first round of the NCAA gymnastics tournament. The Red and Black are the No. 1 seed in the regional and they will be joined by Iowa, No. 25 Minnesota, North Carolina, No. 8 Oregon State, and 15th-ranked host squad Missouri.
The Gym Dogs, who currently are ranked fifth, will need to finish in the top two in their regional in order to advance to the NCAA Championships in Gainesville, Fla. Georgia has won 21 regional titles overall and the Gym Dogs finished first in their regional eleven times in the last dozen seasons.
