Earlier this evening, Sunday Morning Quarterback sent me an e-mail with a link to the following stunning revelation in USA Today:
Breaking Free will chronicle Walker's life with multiple personality disorder, according to Shida Carr, a publicist at Simon & Schuster.
The article contained quotations from former head coach Vince Dooley and 1980 team captain Frank Ros, both of whom seemed taken aback and each of whom used the phrase "news to me."
I don't quite know what to offer in response to this surprising disclosure, except to say that we in Bulldog Nation offer our full support to Walker in his struggle with this disorder.
Since he has managed to keep it a secret from the general public and some of his closest associates during more than a quarter of a century as one of the most well-known men in the state, it obviously is something he has a handle on, but we wish Herschel well.
While I'm wishing my fellow Georgians well, I should mention that it has been an odd week, weather-wise, in the Peach State, as we have experienced two separate snowfalls, on Wednesday afternoon and on Saturday morning. If you're going to be out and about in this tomorrow, drive carefully and be safe.
For one member of my household---who had never seen snow firsthand prior to Wednesday---the inclement weather was a welcome diversion:
