Georgia Track & Field Produces Two More All-Americans

Following Jennifer Dahlgren's second straight national title in the hammer throw, the late news from Sacramento on Friday included the addition of two more Georgia all-Americans to the Bulldogs' resume of success at the N.C.A.A. Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Nate Rolfe finished eighth in the men's hammer throw and Levern Spencer finished third in the high jump to earn all-American honors. This makes Spencer, who holds the Red and Black record in the outdoor high jump, a four-time all-American.

Levern did well, but, unfortunately, Shirley failed to qualify.

While the Georgia men lag behind the rest of the field, the Georgia women find themselves in a sixth-place tie with Texas at 17 points. The male Bulldogs hope to improve their position when Justin Gaymon competes in the finals for the 400 hurdle, an event in which Gaymon captured the S.E.C. title.

Not only is Saturday the final day for competition in the Golden State, it also is the final day for voting in the first round of the hot blogger bracket. Since I'm the No. 6 seed, I'm not sure whom I'll face if---and I said if, Sean!---I advance to the second round, but I'm anxious to find out, so, please, go cast your ballot for me!

Go 'Dawgs!
