The Mark Richt Victory Watch

New, 1 comment

It was a close shave, but it was a win . . . which brings us once again to the Mark Richt Victory Watch.

The 14-13 win not only gave the 'Dawgs their 13th one-point victory of the last 30 years, it moved Mark Richt's career wins total to 56, placing him just 145 victories shy of tying Vince Dooley for the school record.

After 69 games on the Sanford Stadium sideline, Coach Richt has a 56-13 won-lost record, which is the best ever by a Georgia coach at that juncture in his career in the Classic City.

At the same point in their respective tenures with the Red and Black, W.A. Cunningham (43-18-8), Harry Mehre (43-23-3), Wally Butts (47-20-2), Vince Dooley (44-21-4), and Ray Goff (40-28-1) all had worse ledgers than Coach Richt is now able to claim.

Go 'Dawgs!
