Ain't Nothing Finer in the Land

A.C. Evans recently shared something that bore repeating.

A.C. put it thusly:

Redcoats head to China next week.  If you haven't kept up with this, the Redcoat Band, of which I am an alum, will travel throughout China playing Georgia spirit songs as well as promoting the greatest country on Earth.  They are planning on calling the dawgs from the Great Wall of China as they travel as guests of the Chinese government and play 12 highly anticipated shows across the nation in soccer arenas.

The only thing that could make this any cooler would be if the Lone Bugler stood atop the Great Wall and played the Battle Hymn of the Bulldog Nation as a plangent solo echoing across the ancient Asian land just as it peals from the south stands in Sanford Stadium on a Saturday afternoon and spreads out over the Classic City and across the Empire State of the South, an anthem that sends chills down the spine of anyone who bleeds red and black.

Apparently, it wasn't only Nixon who could go to China.  (Photograph by Wally McNamee/CORBIS.)

Glory, glory to old Georgia, indeed.

Go 'Dawgs!
