Alabama 5, Georgia 3

A second straight loss to the Crimson Tide at Foley Field on Saturday dropped the Diamond Dogs to 0-2 in conference play, raising concerns about the Red and Black's postseason potential despite their overall ledger of 13-4.

The Bulldogs, who managed seven hits yet stranded six men on base, staged a sixth inning comeback to take a 2-2 tie into the seventh, where Georgia's fortunes began to unravel.

Two errors and a pair of wild pitches by the Diamond Dogs' Adam McDaniel helped Alabama score three runs in the seventh inning, allowing the Red Elephants to build a three-run lead the home team would prove unable to overcome.

The third and final game of the weekend series between Georgia and Alabama is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
