Georgia 11, Louisville 0

The Diamond Dogs completed a three-game sweep of Louisville this afternoon, running their record to 11-2 after claiming an 11-0 victory over the Cardinals.

The Georgia baseball team had a solid outing both offensively and defensively, producing 17 hits and four home runs while holding the visiting U. of L. squad to four hits in a shutout.  In the series with the Cardinals, the Bulldogs batted .406 at the plate and boasted a 1.33 earned run average on the mound.

The Diamond Dogs' 10-0 home record marks their best start ever in Foley Field and, over the course of the last four games, Georgia has recorded 58 hits and posted 43 runs.  The Red and Black appear to be peaking at the proper moment, as the Bulldogs have games against Kennesaw State on Tuesday and Western Carolina on Wednesday before beginning conference play against Alabama next Friday.

On a different subject altogether, special thanks go out to Newspaper Hack for his timely response to The Weekend Weblogger Challenge.

Per my request, Newspaper Hack left a comment for Orson and Stranko while they were out of town.

His participation is greatly appreciated . . . now I just hope he lives long enough to receive the recognition he deserves.  Seriously, Newspaper Hack, be careful out there.

Go 'Dawgs!
