Mississippi State Game Day Open Thread

It's a dog-eat-dog world in the S.E.C., as the Georgia men's basketball team travels to Starkville for a conference showdown with Mississippi State.

The 'Dawgs---the real 'Dawgs, that is---are 15-11 overall and 5-8 in S.E.C. play.  The Western Division Fauxdogs are 13-13, having won just three of their 13 league games.

The all-time basketball series between the Southeastern Conference schools is snarled at 47-47, due to the fact that N.C.A.A. sanctions caused two Red and Black victories to be vacated.

Georgia has lost on six of its last seven trips to Starkville and the Bulldogs' lone recent win against Mississippi State on the road came in 2002, in one of the aforementioned games that later was vacated.

Thanks a bunch there, Jim Harrick, and you, too, Michael Adams, for insisting upon hiring him . . . twice.  Good call there, bud.

If you're not making the trip to the only corner of the S.E.C. so remote and backward that college basketball fans from Fayetteville, Ark., are allowed to make fun of it, be sure to tune in to the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network so you can hear the Red and Black play basketball while wearing throwback uniforms from the 1960s.

Post your thoughts on the game in the comments section below.

Go 'Dawgs!
