It is all but official, based on talking to someone with knowledge of the schedule talks, that Georgia will not play Alabama next year. A trip to Missouri early in the season (probably Sept. 8, the second week) will replace the previously-scheduled trip to South Carolina, which will be moved to midseason (probably Oct. 5, the sixth week).

And it's not expected that much if anything will change with the rest of Georgia's original 2012 schedule. The four non-conference games are expected to stay where they were.

— This is why Division I student-athletes shouldn't be on Twitter. I'm sure it was just a smart-aleck rhetorical question rather than an actual request, but, seriously, why even put that out there in the universe? (Hat tip: Jason Kirk. To be clear, the hat tip is to Jason for throwing it my way to address rather than being snarky about it, which he easily and justifiably could have been, so I appreciate the class he showed. There is no hat tip for noticing it, though, because, frankly, I wish no one had, but, then, that just goes back to the fact that it shouldn't have been tweeted, which just goes back to the fact that it shouldn't have been there to tweet.)
