OXNARD, Calif. — David Laut, who won a bronze medal for the United States in the shot put at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, was shot to death after confronting intruders outside his California home, authorities said Saturday. He was 52.

A very exciting six throws, but Cantwell gets it done after fouling on all six throws back in 2004. He finishes in 2nd, and was just quoted on NBC as not having a great day. Congrats to Christian, who will head to China as a favorite to medal at the very least, if not win the entire thing.
