I have come to the opinion that we give Georgia entirely too much crap. We’ve played Georgia more than we’ve played Ole Miss, Kentucky, or Florida, not to mention our brothers from 1992 and 2012. We have a lower winning percentage and lower average point differential against Georgia (58.46%, 4.4 delta) than any SEC team not named Missouri (33.33%, -6.67 delta), the Auburnite, or Tennessee, and Herschel was only there for 3 of those 65 games. You’ll notice that a single point separates the deltas of Tennessee, the Auburnite and Georgia, and then there is a jump of 2.46 to LSU, then another 1.82 to Arkansas, and so on. Georgia has been pretty competitive with us for a long time.

Clemson and Georgia have started talks that could result in the cancellation of the football series planned between the two schools for 2013 and 2014.

UGA athletics director Greg McGarity confirmed the talks Tuesday, though there has been "no resolution or final determination yet," according to UGA.

Talks were initiated by Clemson as a result of the ACC’s move earlier this year to expand to a nine-game conference schedule to accommodate 14 members in the league.

At least at this point in time, a nine-game football schedule has little support among the membership for myriad reasons, with the ADs at Georgia and Tennessee being the lone known exceptions.

Barrett Trotter has decided to forgo his senior season at Auburn, keep his bachelor's degree and continue pursuit on his Master's.

"My four years at Auburn has been a great experience and I'm thankful for the opportunities that I've had, however, I have decided to forgo my senior season," Trotter said in a statement. "I'm truly blessed to have been a part of winning seasons and championships during my time at Auburn."

The 2012 SEC schedule is not complete but should be announced soon, athletics director Eric Hyman said. Calling 2012 "a transition year," Hyman predicted the juggling prompted by the addition of Texas A&M and Missouri to the league will upset some fans.

McGarity said Thursday that a new model would be used for 2013 and beyond. It’s not known what that model will be, but it will not be a nine-game schedule, Bloom said. The SEC has repeatedly asserted it is not adding another conference game since expanding to include Missouri and Texas A&M.

Georgia: This is the SEC East "champion"? 2007 Tennessee wants their asterisked crown back. And do UGA fans really not understand why they have earned almost zero respect with nine straight wins? Don't be surprised if Georgia Tech knocks off the Dawgs this weekend if Isiah Crowell is gimpy with the ankle injury. Anything is possible, I suppose, but an UGA win in Atlanta would have to qualify as the biggest upset in SEC Championship Game history.

I never liked Auburn. Point blank, I never liked them.
