New Year's Eve Georgia Rivals Bowl Comment Thread

When the Clemson Tigers, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, LSU Tigers, and Vanderbilt Commodores are playing, fans of the Georgia Bulldogs have at least a passing interest in the games, if there's nothing else on, or anything. Join us at Dawg Sports!

Don't Bet On It!: 2010-2011 College Football Bowl Predictions (Part IV)

Who will win when the Miami Hurricanes renew their rivalry with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Sun Bowl? Dawg Sports predicts the winners of the late December college football bowl games in "Don't Bet On It!"

Georgia Bulldogs Appear Liberty Bowl-Bound to Face Conference USA Champ; Is This a Good Thing?

Following a 6-6 college football season, the Georgia Bulldogs likely are Memphis-bound to face the Conference USA champion in the Liberty Bowl. Dawg Sports attempts to make the best of a disappointing situation.

Chris Low Predicts Georgia Will End Up in Liberty Bowl

I am torn on this one. On the one hand, a New Year's Eve bowl would be a gift; on the other hand, I don't want to play a team from Conference USA. The Music City Bowl is the earliest SEC bowl game (December 30), but it offers an opportunity to renew the rivalry with Clemson. The Compass Bowl is the weakest SEC tie-in, but it also takes place on January 8. While I am not crazy about any of these options, each has advantages that might make it the dog with the fewest fleas. Go 'Dawgs!

Too Much Information: Georgia Bulldogs v. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Dawg Sports examines the Georgia Bulldogs' college football matchup with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from a statistical and historical perspective in "Too Much Information."

Chris Low Has Georgia in Something Called the Compass Bowl

I'm going to have to look that one up, because it's a new one on me; I don't even know where it's played, or what the corporate sponsor makes. Here's the kicker, though: it's a January 8 bowl game, making it the third-latest bowl game (behind only the Fight Hunger Bowl and, of course, the BCS National Championship Game). I'm still holding out hope for a Music City Bowl matchup with Clemson, but, failing that, I have to say that a January bowl game (with the accompanying practice time stretching into the new year) has a lot of appeal. Of course, first the Bulldogs have to get bowl eligible. First things first. Go 'Dawgs!

If the Dec. 30 Music City Bowl can pull it off, it can pair the Dawgs with the Clemson Tigers. As foreseen and hoped for by Dawg Sports about two weeks ago, the first-ever December matchup between the two old rivals could be in the works. They’ve played 62 times, but have only met off-and-on for the last couple decades. . . . To increase our chances of seeing this one, let’s root for the Maryland Terrapins. A strong finish by the Terps could lure the Meineke Car Care bowl to pick them over Clemson, leaving the Tigers to likely play Georgia.

Jason Kirk walks us through the prospects for a Georgia-Clemson Music City Bowl. Go 'Dawgs!

Could the Georgia Bulldogs and the Clemson Tigers Renew College Football Hostilities in the 2010 Music City Bowl?

It has been a disappointing college football season for the Georgia Bulldogs, but Dawg Sports may have located a silver lining: it is possible that the Red and Black may meet the rival Clemson Tigers in the Music City Bowl.

Georgia Bulldogs in Running for Possible Bowl Berth Versus ACC

David Hale links to a few bowl projection postings, which indicate that the Red and Black may be in the running for the Chick-fil-A Bowl (best case scenario) or the Music City Bowl (more likely scenario), either of which would pit the 'Dawgs against an ACC opponent. In other news, Clemson is doing well, which may give the Tigers' fans reason to panic. I have to say, renewing the rivalry with Clemson in a bowl game would sure take some of the sting out of a disappointing season. Go 'Dawgs! Auburna delenda est!
