I don't post much off topic stuff, but when I saw this, I couldn't resist. I rarely agree with George Will, except for sometimes on baseball. But my disagreement is usually about standard liberal vs. conservative stuff. I found this column simply flabbergasting. Will truly believes that the wearing of blue jeans is eroding American culture, society or something. After reading it twice, I'm still not quite sure what it is that blue jeans do which is bad. But I'm pretty sure he's saying that they caused the mortgage lending crisis. The money quote: "This is not complicated. For men, sartorial good taste can be reduced to one rule: If Fred Astaire would not have worn it, don't wear it. For women, substitute Grace Kelly." The weird part is that he's serious. [BTW, this isn't conservative-bashing. I discovered a blurb about this article on a very conservative site which ridiculed Will even more than I am. On this subject, left and right can unite in peace and Harmony.
