I think y'all know where I stand on this one, but Doug is asking you to vote. Go 'Dawgs!
You already know where NCT, vineyarddawg, and I stand on this one, but Doug Gillett is polling Bulldog Nation as a whole. Go 'Dawgs!
It's worth the read, and I like his suggestion of Robbie Caldwell as a potential replacement . . . provided, of course, that he apologizes for his spurious assertion that some city in South Carolina, rather than Cordele, was the Watermelon Capital of the World. Go 'Dawgs!
This is getting scary. Go 'Dawgs!
Too Much Information will be coming your way shortly after the start of the business day. Go 'Dawgs!
I think this will be remembered as the moment at which the Dawgography officially went mainstream. I predict that "sharing your Dawgography" will be the "bros icing bros" of August 2010. Only, nowhere near as lame. Go 'Dawgs!
. . . but postings like this one make it difficult sometimes. If you've never been furious after a football game, you aren't a serious fan. Go back and re-read the comment thread from the loss to Kentucky, for crying out loud. Doug Gillett is one of the most laid-back, easygoing, and even-keeled individuals I know . . . and he threw an appliance out a window during a Georgia victory. Fury is the proper response to any failure of the forces of righteousness to beat back the onslaught of evil. (Here it helps to imagine the word "furious" as uttered by Samuel L. Jackson while misquoting Ezekiel in "Pulp Fiction.") In victory, magnanimity; in defeat, defiance. Go 'Dawgs!
The new BlogPoll is out and No. 1 Alabama still holds a narrow edge over No. 2 Florida with 50 first-place votes to the Gators' 43. Georgia is unranked, which makes perfect sense, but Oklahoma remains in the top 25, which makes no sense whatsoever. The Bulldogs are 3-2. The Sooners are 2-2. Advantage: Georgia. The Bulldogs have beaten Arkansas, Arizona State, and South Carolina. The Sooners have beaten Idaho State and Tulsa. Advantage: Georgia. The Bulldogs' two losses were to Louisiana State and Oklahoma State, who are ranked fourth and sixteenth in the BlogPoll, respectively. The Sooners' two losses were to Miami (Florida) and Brigham Young, who are ranked ninth and 21st in the BlogPoll, respectively. Advantage: Georgia. I don't think either one of them deserves to be ranked---I tied with Doug Gillett for fourth place in the running for the Straight Bangin' Award---but there's no way to justify ranking Oklahoma and not ranking Georgia. Go 'Dawgs!
Give it a look. Go 'Dawgs!
