Sources said Georgia's schedule got harder.

Unexpected expansion-driven changes to the basketball schedule just gave the Hoop Hounds a tougher slate. (Hat tip: Team Speed Kills.) I'm sure we're going to get a lot of comments from South Carolina fans who are sympathetic to the injustice of it all. Go 'Dawgs!

California (Pac-10), Georgia (SEC), and Notre Dame (Big East), all of whom participated in the Old Spice Classic last Thanksgiving are ticketed for the CBE Classic in Kansas City this year, alongside Missouri (Big 12).

Chris Dobbertean is thinking ahead to next basketball season, which will see Georgia taking on some tough competition in November (without Travis Leslie, whose confirmation of what we already knew I did not report, because it struck me as "Francisco Franco is still dead"-style information, but with Nemanja Djurisic). Even though Georgia appears among the Next Four In, the Bulldogs are considerably safer than the other three teams in that group. As I stressed in a Q&A over at Dawg Sports on Wednesday, they should get in if they avoid the dreaded late bad loss.

The Bulldogs are the least bubble-like of the last of the bubble teams. Basically, as long as Georgia doesn't lose to South Carolina on Saturday, to LSU next week, or to a lower-seeded team in the SEC Tournament, the Fox Hounds are safe. Go 'Dawgs!

The Bulldogs (18-8, 7-5) haven't lost to anyone outside the RPI top 40, but this victory provided a much-needed quality win. It eased some of the sting from squandering a lead against Vanderbilt earlier in the week and marked the Bulldogs' first victory over a likely NCAA tournament team since a win over Kentucky to start SEC play more than a month ago.

Jeff Eisenberg gives the Fox Hounds a little love. Go 'Dawgs!

To say that Georgia has historically struggled against Kentucky would be an understatement. The Wildcats lead the series by a count of 112-25 with a sparkling 54-5 record against the Bulldogs in Lexington. If Georgia can take anything positive into the game it is that eight of those 25 lifetime wins against Kentucky have come in the last 10 years.

Kris Willis offers a sliver of hope. He also gets the whole "historically"/"traditionally" thing right, for which he gets bonus points. Go 'Dawgs!

If we sign Isaiah Crowell, Mark Richt needs to send Mark Fox a "thank you" note. Go 'Dawgs!

Georgia is now 14-4 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. The win puts the Bulldogs just a half a game behind the Florida Gators for the top spot in the SEC's Eastern division. The Gators will visit Athens on Tuesday.

I guess you could say Tuesday night's game is kind of a big deal. Go 'Dawgs!
