Mark Ingram, Alabama's first Heisman Trophy winner, is hugged by John David Crow who won the award in 1957 as a running back at Texas A&M. Crow is the only player under coach Paul W. Bryant to have won the trophy. The two met on Dec. 15 at a reception for open only to former Heisman Trophy winners prior to the banquet where Ingram was officially presented the trophy. Also pictured are former Heisman award winners, Steve Spurrier, Billy Cannon, Howard Cassady and Johnny Lattner.

As it so happens, I am wearing a Billy Cannon t-shirt as I type this, and I briefly considered naming my original blog "Billy Cannon's Printing Press." It's been a long, up-and-down life for one of LSU's greatest players, though certainly not one of LSU's greatest persons. It's interesting to read that he's not a dental director at the Louisiana State Penitentiary (and no he's not an inmate anymore). I had read that his private practice was in shambles in recent years and I'm happy he's making a living and seems to be in good shape.
