Tuesday Morning Dawg Bites

Here are a couple of housekeeping notes to get you going this Tuesday morning:

  • The folks at Fan IQ were exceedingly patient while awaiting my answers to their interview questions, which I finally submitted and which have been posted at the site. Be sure to check it out for my take on Matthew Stafford, the 40 Watt, the Song Girls, and the most overrated, underrated, and fearsome S.E.C. squads.
  • Our local N.F.L. blogger, The Falcoholic, recently got some deserved mainstream media attention, as he was quoted by ESPN. Our congratulations go out to Dave during this trying time for Falcons fans. I had been gearing up to follow my hometown pro team when D.J. Shockley was in the quarterback mix, but, due to his unfortunate injury, I'm back to being indifferent toward the Atlanta football franchise, since I no longer have a 'Dawg in that fight . . . so to speak.
Go 'Dawgs!

um ...
The Athens Yacht Club was just that place where Abbott's used to be after John Berry graduated from the basement a few blocks east.

Nice interview. Maybe Corey Smith will be in town.

Great Interview
I'd be remiss to mention, though, that Stafford did throw one INT in the bowl game.

D'oh!
You are right; in fact, that was one of the three big plays that allowed Virginia Tech to build up a 21-3 lead in what otherwise had been a tight first half of football.

I was pulling statistics out of the media guide and I either overlooked it or wrote it down wrong. I apologize for my error and I thank you for the correction.

I don't think we were too far apart in years...
in Athens, but I'm pretty sure Kinchafoonee and DMB weren't 40 Watt-type bands very often, if ever - and neither would be playing there on a game weekend.  You might instead be thinking of the Georgia Theatre.  drivin' n cryin' would be there too (saw them there after the Boise State game).

40 Watt is more likely to have college radio alt-rock.  Not that it isn't worth going for the history or if you like that music.

Crud!
You're exactly right. I am, in fact, thinking of the Georgia Theatre, not the 40 Watt.

Dang it. This just ain't my day.
