Final Day of Track & Field Meet Produces Four More Georgia All-Americans

The Red and Black made a strong showing on the final day of the N.C.A.A. Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, as the Lady Bulldogs claimed ninth place to earn their fourth consecutive top 10 finish at the outdoor meet.

Georgia's last day in Sacramento was highlighted by the efforts of Justin Gaymon (third place in the 400 hurdles), Natalie Picchetti (eighth place in the 1,500), Krista Woodward (third place in the javelin), and the fifth-place 4x400 men's relay team, all of whom earned all-American honors.

The Bulldog women finished behind Arizona State, Louisiana State, Michigan, Texas A&M, U.C.L.A., Texas, Southern California, and California, respectively. The Georgia men ended up tied for 26th place, trailing such conference foes as Louisiana State, Auburn, and Tennessee, each of which finished in the top four.

For the record, the Florida Gators finished 34th on the men's side and 46th on the women's side, lagging behind the student-athletes from the Classic City on both sides of the gender divide.
