Wednesday Morning Dawg Bites

Egad! The week is nearly halfway gone and there just aren't enough hours in the day to get it all done, but you can spare a minute to relax just long enough to take a leisurely stroll through the blogosphere as you quaff that first cup of coffee, so take a load off and pay attention, 'cause here we go:

• I don't think there's an East Coast bias. Bruins Nation disagrees, but I defended my thesis and the Big Red Network has my back on this one. What do you think?
• During the English Civil War, Lord Falkland said that, "when it is not necessary to change, it is necessary not to change." That bit of wisdom forms part of the foundation for my innate conservatism, as my belief in the Law of Unintended Consequences prevents me from going off on flights of philosophical fancy and putting them into action without considering the potential ramifications. Unfortunately, Lord Falkland and I are not in charge of college football, which is why the N.C.A.A. is changing the rules . . . and not for the better.

Like Antonin Scalia, I dissent from any attempt at excessive fiddling with the rules.

• Paul Westerdawg has pointed us in the direction of the review of Monday night's Atlanta Bulldog Club meeting provided by Jim from Duluth, a devoted 'Dawg fan and onetime loyal viewer of "The Dawg Show" back when it was on the air. Meanwhile, MaconDawg has the synopsis of what we learned from S.E.C. Media Days.
• What kind of fan are you? What's your rooting style? Now you can figure it out, thanks to a pair of helpful postings from 54b and USCLink . . . the latter of whom has some serious West Coast bias going on, by the way!

I believe I belong in the "look like a dork posing for pictures before the game/yell like a lunatic during the game" category of fan.

• Jeff disagrees with me on that whole East Coast bias thing, but I still made it into his Tuesday morning rundown, which was appreciated. Maize n Brew Dave also summed things up succinctly.
• It's good to see Sunday Morning Quarterback getting the recognition he deserves.

"Notre Dame . . . why did it have to be Notre Dame?" (Hey, it's not that big a stretch: South Bend is in Indiana and the nickname by which Dr. Henry Jones, Jr., commonly is known is . . .)

If that doesn't bring you up to speed, I reckon nothing will, so consider yourself chock full of useless trivia and get on with your work day.
