Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Wednesday Morning Dawg Bites

Your work week is almost halfway gone, but there's still a lot you haven't gotten to yet and even more that you don't yet know, but don't worry . . . I'm from the blogosphere and I'm here to help.  Take it from me, this is what you need to be aware of to keep on top of things:

  • Do Americans care about sports?  Gaslamp Ball doesn't seem to think so; he contends that the only place he's seen a home-grown version of other countries' rabid devotion to soccer is in the area of intercollegiate athletics.  Of our fan dedication, Dex asks, "What exactly happens after we graduate from college?"
  • It has been a week for anniversaries.  Yesterday, Sunday Morning Quarterback commemorated a year in the blogosphere, while today marks the 10th anniversary of the night I proposed to my wife.  I'm pretty sure that virtually every Dawg Sports reader was there when it happened, but, for the three or four of you who weren't, it was in Athens and it involved a karaoke machine and my rendition of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love."

Thank you.  Thank you very much.

Rice may not look like much, but the Owls are 55-11.

Although I kind of owed a loyal reader another shot of Mary-Louise Parker, I didn't want to get a "cease and desist" letter from the guys at Showtime, so, since yesterday's picture of Phoebe Cates went over so well, I figured I'd go with another one.

You're now as up to date as you're going to get this early in the day, so wake up, bear down, and make a positive contribution to America's G.D.P.

Go 'Dawgs!

The safety
Thanks for the most obviously flawed aspect of the Sanks fumble - that the Tech player was actually tackled in the end zone for a safety. If it's a live fumble, than it's two points for Georgia and the Bulldogs win anyway.

Really?
Never been an Amanda Peet fan. Though the fact she went to Ivy League school is fascinating. That's kinda like Mira Sorvino picking up a Masters in Mandarin Chinese.

What about Sarah Michelle Gellar? No love for Buffy?
