Quincy Carter Career Implosion Update
In addition to organizing Bloggerpalooza '06 and being cool in four-minute increments, Doug Gillett has notified the Bulldog blogosphere that former Georgia quarterback [sic.] Quincy Carter has signed with a Canadian Football League team.
Quoth Quincy: "I'm proud to join the Montreal Alouettes. This is a great opportunity for me to do what I love best, which is to play football." I could've sworn that the Jim Donnan prodigy allegedly violated the National Football League's substance abuse policy by doing what he loved best, but that may just be me.
Carter's career N.F.L. numbers include 32 touchdown passes and 37 interceptions.

Maybe I'm too hard on Quincy . . .
Getting Quincy to bail on his commitment to Georgia Tech and sign with Georgia instead was the greatest non-George P. Burdell prank ever played by the Yellow Jackets.
I don't know what strikes me as funnier: Quincy trying to figure out a metric C.F.L. field or Quincy trying to pronounce "Alouettes" in an interview.
