Madison, WI (Sports Network) - Wisconsin tight end Travis Beckum will miss the remainder of the season due to a fractured left fibula he suffered in Saturday's 27-17 win over Illinois.
Beckum had surgery at University of Wisconsin Hospital on Saturday night.
"It's very unfortunate whenever anyone's season is ended because of an injury," said Badgers head coach Bret Bielema. "Our thoughts are with Travis and his family as he begins his recovery. I visited him today in the hospital and his spirits are good. I know he will do everything it takes to get back to 100 percent."
Beckum ends his Badger career with 159 receptions for 2,149 yards and 11 touchdowns. He ranks third in school history in both receptions and receiving yards, behind Lee Evans and Brandon Williams.
