Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Panthers quarterback Bill Stull was injured in the third quarter and taken off the field on a stretcher in Saturday's 54-34 loss to Rutgers.
Stull suffered an apparent neck injury after he was hit by Rutgers defensive back David Rowe while attempting a pass. His head snapped forward as he collided with running back LeSean McCoy with about six minutes to go in the quarter.
Stull finished the game with 283 yards on 17-of-23 passing, as Pittsburgh lost for the first time since its opening week loss against Bowling Green. Pat Bostick came in to replace Stull and completed only 5-of-10 passes for 65 yards, with an interception.
