Sports Network | October 04, 2008

Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) - Virginia Tech tailback Kenny Lewis Jr. is done for the season after rupturing his Achilles' tendon in the Hokies' 27-13 victory over Western Kentucky on Saturday.

Lewis suffered the injury with 12:33 left in the third quarter after making a cut on a running play.

"That's a tough loss for us," said Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer. "I hate to see that. I hate to see any injury."

Lewis had totaled 237 yards on 64 carries with three touchdowns and also had six catches for 30 yards and a score this season.
