Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - South Florida linebacker Brouce Mompremier was cleared to return home Sunday, one day after being taken off the field by an ambulance during the Bulls' 17-9 victory over Florida International.
Mompremier is expected to miss at least the next two games for the Bulls, but he was cleared of any severe spinal injury during initial tests taken at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital Saturday night.
With 6:43 left in the third quarter, Mompremier collided with teammate Carlton Williams while trying to make a tackle. Williams was down on the ground before limping off the field with what appeared to be a left leg injury, however, Mompremier remained motionless on the turf before being taken to the hospital.
Mompremier has started 16 of the last 17 games for the Bulls. He had 11 tackles last season.
